All successful hall applicants will be considered together in the order from 1st to 2nd room type preference. A system-generated random number is applied in each room type preference indicated by the applicant, in case the demand for a particular room type is greater than supply - in which case, allocation to the room type is determined randomly. In the case that applicants are not assigned to any of their preferred room(s) due to high demand and limited supply, they will be assigned to any room on a random basis.
Room preferences indicated by applicants serve as a reference only. Room allocation is done on random basis in case the demand is greater than the supply and preferences indicated will be considered as far as possible and subject to availability.
There is NO GUARANTEE that you will be assigned to a particular student hall, room type or with a specific roommate. Final room assignment is subject to room availability. Student Housing and Residential Life Office and the Residence Master reserve the right to make alternative assignment decisions or re-assign students as appropriate.
